Course’s Content:

To achieve this qualification a learner must successfully complete five units, all three mandatory units, and at least two units from the optional section:

Learning Outcomes:

Learners will obtain understanding of relative and absolute contraindications, related pathologies, and the structure and function of the body systems as well as their interaction on one another in the areas of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

By researching laws, regulations, and procedures, learners will be able to put their advanced knowledge and understanding of health, safety, and hygiene practises into practice. When implementing health, safety, and hygiene for the salon, oneself, and clients for services/treatments, the learner will analyse and assess policies and processes for improvement.

The foundation of all the practical technical modules within the qualification is client consultation and client profiling.

To develop and create client lifestyle profiles from which wellbeing experiences and holistic therapy treatment plans can be produced and tailored to meet the individual needs of clients, learners will be able to conduct a succinct consultation. This will help clients achieve the desired wellbeing and holistic outcome(s).

Learners will be able to deliver and supervise the use of dry spa services and facilities, which may include heated beds, saunas, infrared light, and dry flotation.

Providing and supervising the use of wet spa facilities, such as showers, mineral showers, steam rooms, thalassotherapy pools, hydrotherapy, flotation treatment, and plunge pools, will be a skill for learners.

Body wrap treatments: Students will be able to administer therapeutic body wrap treatments using a range of materials, including creams, oils, milk, algae, clay, salts, and enzymes, as well as equipment including electric blankets, para-thermal foil, fabric, and plastic.

Requirements for entry:

This certification is intended for students 16 years of age and older who have completed an apprenticeship in beauty therapy at the Level 2 level or who have the necessary work experience for direct entry into the Level 3 program. The responsibility for making sure that this certification is appropriate for student ability rests with the centers.

The qualification has been created to be accessible without the use of arbitrary hurdles that impede entry and advancement. The qualification will be available through a centre interview, and students will be evaluated individually.
